Close to the airport and with lots of hotels, Kuta should be your first step on Balinese soil. The geographical situation of the airport will make it easier for you to travel around. Kuta is a very crowded city; it’s just the right opposite of a quiet place. However the good point is that you will easily find a taxi, negotiate all kind of stuff or find tours to visit the surrounding islands.

Kuta has a very beautiful beach which is also a perfect spot for surfers, so you’ll see many of them riding the waves all day long. However, you’d better go at the end of the day to enjoy the sunset on this lively beach.
